When I was in my teens and early twenties I said I wanted to grow up to be eccentric. But the older I got the more I just wanted to hang on to being myself. Now “being me” means I’m the neighbor shoving a camera into the branches of our crabapple tree. So maybe I got my first wish after all…?

In all seriousness, I’ve been delighted by the fall colors in this tree. I used a macro lens and stacked two images to get more of the branch in focus. I also handheld a circular polarizer in front of the lens because I couldn’t find the right size adapter for my lens.
