White-crowned Sparrow in Context

I took this shot over a year ago. I don’t think I ever posted it, probably because it’s not the kind likely to do well on Instagram. (The bird is small in the frame.) I’ve always kind of liked it though. It’s soft, pleasingly symmetrical, and shows the white-crowned sparrow in its larger environment — in this case, in a field of future Christmas trees. This is on my favorite country road outside of town.
